Properties and Wide Applications of Molybdenum and Tungsten

As members of the same group in the periodic table, tungsten and molybdenum both exhibit a body-centered cubic structure and have very similar atomic radii and lattice constants. This similarity enables them to form continuous solid solutions, thereby facilitating the preparation of molybdenum–tungsten alloy materials that combine the advantageous properties of both elements.

Applications and Characteristics of Tungsten-Nickel-Iron Alloy

Tungsten–nickel–iron alloys are important tungsten-based heavy alloys. They are composed of tungsten alloyed with nickel and iron, and may further incorporate other metallic elements. The typical nickel-to-iron ratio in these alloys is 7:3 or 1:1.
